Outreach Programs

If you enjoy the Children’s Museum but are concerned with time constraints or travel expenses, then check out Children’s Museum to Go! Designed specifically for preschools, licensed childcare facilities, and schools, Children’s Museum to Go brings the field trip to you. All of our regular field trip programs are also available through Children’s Museum to Go, including our new Toddler Transportation Time!

Information and Registration

Children’s Museum to Go programs are available year-round.

Please submit a request using the online form below and we will contact you. If you have specific questions contact or call 804-474-7012.

You will be notified via email of any changes after we receive your request.

Cost & Payment

$9 per child (minimum 10 children, 2 chaperones). Payment and final count is due one week prior to your visit. Credit card payments are preferred and can be made by phone. Call the Education Manager at 804-474-7012 to pay using a credit card. If you are paying by check, please ensure it is received prior to the program. Mail to: Attention: Education Dept. 2626 W. We are unable to accept Purchase Orders. Please note that member privileges do not apply to Virtual Field Trip reservations.

Travel Fee (round trip)

Travel fees are determined by the roundtrip mileage from our downtown location (2626 W. Broad St.) to the school site and are not eligible for discounts.

  • 0 – 29 miles: $20
  • 30 – 49 miles: $35
  • 50 – 75 miles: $50
  • 75 –100 miles: $100
