Planting a Garden with Shalom Farms – Chesterfield

Shalom Farms will have a table with several fruits and veggies for kids to taste. They’ll discuss what we like and why, and how colors and texture can reveal things about the nutrition in our food. After tasting, participants will be able to plant the seeds of their favorites in a miniature “community garden” plot.

The food we grow is distributed through our network of programs and partnerships in communities where access to healthy food is limited. We engage thousands of visitors on our two farms each year through volunteer, tour and field trip opportunities.
