We are delighted to introduce you to Joe Torrence, our new Community Outreach Manager. He is a wonderful addition to our Education team and a perfect complement to the work we are doing! Read on to learn more about Joe.

Hey there! My name is Joe Torrence, and I am the new Community Outreach Manager at CMoR. I am originally from Lynchburg, Virginia but have lived in Richmond for twenty years. I am close to being a Richmonder.  I have been married to my wife, Casey, for 22 years, and we have three incredible daughters, all of whom grew up coming to the Children’s Museum. I have worked with students in different capacities for more than 20 years as a teacher, Chaplain, and Youth Minister, and for the last ten years in the non-profit sector raising money. I am excited about taking the Children’s Museum outside its walls, and I am passionate about connecting partners and nonprofits. I believe that when the community partners together, incredible things can happen. As the great theologian, Jack Johnson once said, “We are better together.”

In my spare time, I love to play golf, fall off my mountain bike, and listen to live music. I am excited about the opportunity to join the CMoR family and look forward to connecting with our partners in Richmond and beyond.
