Summer Interns (1)

The Children’s Museum of Richmond is proud to partner with Cristo Rey Richmond High School for their work study program. In addition to each Cristo Rey student’s full course load, they participate one day each week in a Corporate Work Study Program at partnering companies. This program funds the majority of their tuition and helps them gain invaluable career readiness experiences. We are excited to have two students with us this school year!

Our students will be working on the museum floor, engaging with families in the various exhibits. Additionally, they will be assisting our Education department with field trips and our Marketing & Development department with research, volunteer orientations, and social media.

Jakyia

Hello, I am Jakyia. I am 17 years old and I am in 12th grade. I’m part of the founding class of Cristo Rey Richmond High School. I love to draw. Last year in art, me and my friend Dani we drew and painted our old Dean of Students with a big bow tie since he always wears them. I love to cheer. I’ve been doing cheer since I was 4 or 5. I compete and I’ve been lots of places through cheer. In middle school, I used to play in the band and play the clarinet. I still have my clarinet but I just don’t play as often as I used to. I love kids so I hope to have fun everyday I’m at CMoR and make new little friends.

Sherlyn

Hello, my name is Sherlyn. I’m 16 and I currently go to Cristo Rey Richmond High School. I’m a very loyal and honest person. During my free time, I love to be productive. I like to go on walks, bake, do homework and just hang out with my family and friends. I also love to cheer. I love to treat people with love and care for others. Overall, I’m so happy to be working at CMoR and I can’t wait to have fun and meet new people.
