Peyton Schwarz is a junior at Midlothian High School where she is actively engaged in the International Baccalaureate program, National Art Honors Society, Book Club, and the Spanish Club. Peyton values giving back to the community, opportunities to be creative, and working with others to achieve common goals. Through Peyton’s leadership roles, she’s gained an understanding of the importance of listening, being open-minded, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable sharing their ideas.

In her application, Peyton wrote about her connection to the Children’s Museum’s mission to inspire growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. She emphasized that play allows children and even adults to think outside of the box. To Peyton, learning through play encourages little ones to problem solve, collaborate, and be creative.

Peyton’s teachers at Midlothian High School shared that she is extremely helpful in the school setting and beyond. They described her as hard-working, enthusiastic, and mindful. She helps set up and pack up classrooms at the beginning and end of the year, curates bulletin boards throughout the school year, and helps plan and execute major school events. Peyton is also active in her community, helping distribute food through the Meals on Wheels program and more. On top of that, Peyton dances regularly and works a part-time job at Hallmark.

It was very clear to the Museum and our Associate Board that Peyton has exceptional qualities to make her a wonderful fit for the Snow Ambassador Scholarship. After being selected as a top three finalist by our Nominating Committee and then being selected as the winner through public votes in our two Museums, we are so excited to recognize Peyton Schwarz as our 2022 Snow Ambassador and to present her with this check for $1,000 towards higher education costs.

Thank you, Peyton, for applying for this opportunity and for all you do for our community. We’re so looking forward to working with you to further CMoR’s mission in 2022!
