Do you know a High School Junior that demonstrates creativity and acts as a role model for all children, regardless of their age, ability, or background? The Children's Museum of Richmond is currently accepting applications for its 2026 Snow Ambassador Scholarship. To be eligible, Snow Ambassador applicants must be current High School Juniors during the 2025-2026 school year, demonstrate a balance between extracurricular activities, academics, and community service, and be able to serve as the Snow Ambassador between January 2026-January 2027, as scheduled by the Children's Museum of Richmond.

The Children's Museum of Richmond exists to inspire growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play.
In following with that mission, the Children's Museum is looking for a Snow Ambassador who will:
- Serve as a role model through their character and commitment to the museum's mission of inspiring creativity and individuality.
- Extend their character's relevance and impact beyond the holidays.
Snow Ambassador Criteria:
- Must have a passion for working with children of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Have demonstrated creativity in their own life.
- Can volunteer approximately 50 hours as Snow Ambassador for the Children's Museum from January 2026 through January 2027. Please note, dates are subject to change.
- Snow Ambassador Virtual Interviews: December 2024 (Date TBD)
- Snow Ambassador Check Presentation: January 28, 2026 (Exact time TBD, between 4-5:30 pm)
- Sensory Friendly Nights Volunteering: February-November 2026 and January 2027, third Friday of every month.
- February-June will be held at our Chesterfield Museum location; July-January will alternate between the Downtown and Chesterfield locations.
- Kindergarten Readiness Series Volunteering: Spring-Summer 2026 (Dates TBD)
- 2nd Street Festival and Folk Festival 2026 (often the first two weekends of October)
- Sensitive Santa Volunteering: Up to three evenings in December 2026 (Downtown)
- Option to sit in the float with Legendary Santa during the annual Christmas Parade, dressed as the Snow Queen character (Date TBD)
- Show balance between extracurricular activities, academics, and community service.
- Interest to pursue a career that would help promote the development and/or creativity of children.
- Be a high school Junior during the 2025-2026 school year with anticipated graduation in Spring 2027.
- Be in good academic standing.
Please note: The Children's Museum of Richmond will work with students who are concerned about the volunteer schedule or transportation to and from volunteer activities. We encourage all qualifying high school juniors to apply!
The Snow Ambassador Scholarship is $1,000.
