I am delighted to introduce you to Joan Dickens Andoh, our new Community Outreach Coordinator.  She is a wonderful addition to our Education team and a perfect complement to the work we are doing!  Joan brings a passion and can-do spirit to this new position that will help us fulfill our new Strategic Plan:

LEARNING…
…Within and beyond our walls…
…With WOW experiences,…
…That capture and expand the imagination of all children and families…
…With our neighbors…
THROUGH PLAY

Joan will play a critical role in connecting the community to the museum and the museum to the community. Look for Joan at community events, driving the new book buggy van and at special events! Be sure to say HI and tell her that you appreciate her contribution!

She has already taken the reins to manage a HUGE book bank donation and is busily planning special events and programs for both museums this summer (keep an eye on our event calendar)!

Joan, tell us a little about yourself so our readers can get to know you…

I am originally from Ghana, which lies along the West Coast of Africa.  Upon graduating from High School, I relocated to London, England, where my passion for Family growth and unity inspired me to earn a Law Degree from the University of Wolverhampton.

I moved to the U.S. nearly 20 years ago, where my interest in family affairs led me to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

I have since been heavily involved in nurturing children and working with families to enhance literacy and personal growth—through community outreach and eLearning systems.

I am excited for the privilege to contribute to CMoR’s mission to “inspire growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play.”

My hobbies include swimming, reading, and traveling with my lovely husband of 22 years…and our three amazing children.

CMoR presents me with a unique opportunity to remain active in my pursuit of childhood learning and growth—while learning new, creative ways to serve my community.
