The Children’s Museum celebrates the incredible history and culture of South American countries!
Enjoy cultural performances from the Latin Ballet of Virginia and Margarita and the Maracas. Dive into activities and fun that honor the heritage of an amazing people group! Create your own maracas, play Spanish Nations BINGO, Learn Spanish using colors and numbers, and even create papel picado or paper mâché. Indulge in the tastes of Hispanic culture by visiting one of the several food trucks that will be parked outside the museum throughout the event, provided by the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. A portion of their sales will be donated back to the Children’s Museum. ¡Celebremos!
-Hispanic Author Lisa Zajur will be reading her book, The Pinata Story, at 10:15 am, 10:45 am, and 11:15 am.
-The Latin Ballet of Virginia will perform at 10:30 am and 11:30 am.
-Latin Band Margarita and the Maracas will be performing between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
Event is free with museum admission. As usual, Children’s Museum Members play for free all year long!
