Fairy Tale Fitness

Follow fairy tale characters through a variety of fitness challenges that encourage the development of gross motor skills along with creative play. Throwing twists on classic tales, the exhibit will entice older children to climb, balance, roll, and bike their way through a whimsical village! Heart-pumping activities will get our kids moving and the magical theme will provide a backdrop for creative expression.

Exhibit Tip: This exhibit encourages healthy lifestyles. Take the opportunity to be active as a family with the adult and child-size exercises. Enhance the experience by reading one of the provided fractured fairy tales, such as Eat Your Veggies, Goldilocks, or Get Some Rest, Sleeping Beauty!

Family Fitness Tips

  • Watch television and workout at the same time! Try doing jumping jacks during commercial breaks for a family workout. Jumping Jacks per minute=11 calories!
  • Family Game Time! Games like hide and seek, kickball, and even dancing are great workouts and fun things to do together.
  • Get out and walk! Take advantage of family outings on a nice day to walk the neighborhood, local park, and the mall!
