SUMMARY:Serenata Performance - Downtown
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, May 8 from 1-2:30 for Serenata\, a Latin Music Group performance. This event is free with Museum admission. \nWelcome to “Serenata!” In the Spanish language\, “Serenata” translates to “serenade” in English. Serenata is a duo or trio featuring music from Latin America\, the Caribbean and Spain. Our repertoire includes a mix of salsa\, Cuban son\, bachata\, cumbia\, bolero\, and rumba flamenco. We “serenade” our audience with lively Latin music in a warm\, intimate setting! \nSerenata have adapted their music program to an educational format suitable for children\, ages 2 to 10 years old. Instruments are provided for attendees. Their interactive songs use Latin rhythms and children are encouraged to play along. Children enjoy the thrill of live performance as they play along with live music. They also provide a brief background of the social and historical significance of the music they present. \nSerenata features the voice of Anaís Alonso\, a singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico. Tony Corsano adds guitar\, percussion and tres cubano (a Cuban variation on the\nguitar).
